New for September 2024

Starting in September 2024, we have an exciting new provision combining Maths and English tuition (up to GCSE) and forest activities. These scheduled classes will run during the week, term-time only.

This programme will be useful to any learners that are registered for exams at exam centres but are not attending school. These small group classes will be focused on attaining results in GCSE Maths and English and also helping to build confidence and resilience in a forest school environment. Forest and ME (Maths and English) facilitates the pursuit of individual wellbeing and academic attainment.

The ethos of a Forest School is based on a fundamental respect for young people and the encouragement of their natural curiosity in the world. Forest Schools believe in promoting a connection to nature, to the natural world and to each other. There is something rooted deep down in us that responds to being outdoors together, something ingrained over millennia. We evolved over millions of years living hand in hand with the natural world, and only in the last few hundred years have most of us turned our backs on that way of life, and with technology overwhelmingly intertwined with our daily lives it’s good to step away regularly and immerse the senses in nature and remember who we really are and what we want to do and achieve.

We have a wealth of experience with learners who feel that traditional schooling is not for them. We also understand that a break in education, for whatever reason,  can cause feelings of unease when it’s time to return to study again. Our team of tutors are happy to meet parents and students in advance to discuss goals and aspirations before creating a study plan and welcoming them to our hybrid school of Maths, English and the outdoors.
